Role Overview
We are looking to strengthen our Audit & Accounts Team in Dundalk by welcoming a qualified or newly qualified ACCA or ACA accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional eager to develop their career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role will be office-based from Monday to Thursday, with the flexibility of a half-day working from home on Fridays. Reporting directly to the Audit & Accounts Manager, the successful candidate will take on a hands-on role, demonstrating ambition, motivation, and a strong commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise a portfolio of audit and account engagements within the deadlines laid down by your team manager.
Oversee and review statutory financial statements, accounts files for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Review corporation tax returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines.
Lead, mentor, and support junior staff, addressing technical queries and facilitating professional development, including conducting periodic appraisals and 1:1’s.
Meet with clients during the course of each assignment for the purposes of garnering the information and explanations required to satisfactorily complete the task within the deadline and budget.
Liaise with all other departments within the firm to ensure any other potential client needs are identified and serviced accordingly.
Manage the profitable recovery of work in progress and ensure the monthly agreed targets for billable work is achieved.
Conduct client visits, including attendance at stock takes and closing meetings, which may occur outside normal working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Prepare reports, returns, and other documentation for submission to regulatory and tax authorities, including the Revenue Commissioners (Ireland), HM Revenue & Customs (UK), Companies Registration Office (Ireland), and Companies House (UK).
Draft internal and external communication materials for approval by the Firm.
Conduct research and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Take ownership of client relationships for assigned clients, providing high-quality service and maintaining strong professional relationships.
Prepare internal management reports to track assignment progress and status.
Undertake additional ad hoc tasks or projects as required to support the team and the Firm.

About You

Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent
Experience working in a fast-paced audit department or practice
Proven ability to manage and lead teams
You will have strong technical knowledge, e.g., UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS and ISA’s
Experience in audit and accounts preparation, ideally in a practice environment
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership or mentoring capability for junior staff
Proactive, ambitious, and committed to professional development
