Essential Role Functions
* Lead the development & implementation of the hazardous material operational strategy and drive alignment to that strategy throughout Crane EMEIA region.
* Support and identify policies, programs, and procedures for the management of general and hazardous materials throughout Crane EMEIA region aligning with QHSE
* Engage and support Corporate with emerging regulations and legislation through the development of regulatory interpretation, guidance, and application to all areas of international hazardous material transport.
* Provide regulatory guidance and business process improvements that supports the safe transportation and/or storage of lithium battery in the rapidly evolving area of lithium battery technologies.
* Develop & implement training resources, content, eLearnings, and reporting capabilities to drive appropriate knowledge for safe and compliant handling of Hazardous Materials throughout EMEIA to ensure alignment to global policy, while providing content that is relevant to Regional needs. Provide targeted regulatory risk identification, quantification, and mitigation advice as required.
* Oversee the development of facility hazardous material storage plans, and use STARS to conduct Hazardous Materials compliance audits, and facilitate the implementation of mitigation activities.
* Lead & develop the country QHSE/Operational Teams to implement standardized processes and timely closure of hazardous material & chemical management concerns related to emerging and existing regulations.
* Support Crane EMEIA business units in hazardous materials, transportation and storage regulations.
* Collaborate with Operations and Sales to sell safe, executable solutions to Clients who want to transport or store Hazardous Materials within Crane’s network.
* Oversee the engagement with Hazardous Materials compliance consultants, software providers, and regulatory publications such as Bureau of Dangerous Goods, IATA, IMDG, and DOT.
* Lead cross functional process improvements activities both within the QHSE/Hazardous Materials Team and across the organization.
* Drive compliance to Hazardous Materials policies, programs and initiatives to improve the quality of processes and services.
* Oversees evaluation of current processes in the region to determine areas of improvement.
* Acts as the regional subject matter expert and as a liaison between Corporate and the Region to ensure compliance, support and alignment of Regional needs and Global policies and procedures.
* Supports regional and global improvement projects and oversees progress and results in the region for Hazardous Materials management.
* Works with Corporate and Regional QHSE team to develop new and advanced tools, methods and systems to ensure quality and safety improvements related to handling Hazardous Materials throughout the region.
* Drive compliance within the Region to standard operating procedures and ensures adherence to documented procedures.
* Drives compliance to all Crane Safety policies and procedures.
* Supports regional operations to ensure training documentation for all QHSE programs is completed and properly maintained within Crane’s LMS.
* Supports development of site emergency response plans, spill containment plans, etc in the region.
* Ensure compliance to Crane policies and procedures for hazardous materials and dangerous goods within the region.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
* Ability to travel 25%-50% within EMEA Region
Other Skills & Abilities
* Effective use of quality tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent time management abilities are necessary.
* Demonstrated initiative, ability to exercise good judgment, and ability to achieve results through others is required.
* Must possess knowledge and expertise in project/program management, portfolio management methodologies and tools.
* Strategy and planning: must possess an ability to think ahead and plan over a 12–24-month time span as well as strong client orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Education & Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics, warehousing and transportation.
* Minimum 5 years supervisory or managerial experience required.
* Current Certified Dangerous Goods Professional (DGSA Certification) or equivalent certification is preferred
