Job Title: Senior Therapist
This is a part-time position for 19 hours per week, with the expectation to provide senior cover in other locations when required.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with young people aged 12-25 years who are experiencing mental health difficulties. They will provide evidence-informed therapeutic interventions, conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate.
The Senior Therapist will also deputise for the Clinical Manager in their absence and/or as required, provide clinical consultation/guidance and supervision to colleagues, and assume leadership responsibilities such as chairing case management meetings and facilitating group supervision.
Responsibilities
* Undertake initial mental health assessments with young people focusing on both strengths and difficulties
* Provide evidence-informed brief, therapeutic interventions to young people
* Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate
* Deputise for the Clinical Manager in their absence and/or as required
* Provide clinical consultation/guidance and supervision to colleagues
* Assume leadership responsibilities such as chairing case management meetings and facilitating group supervision
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology, Mental Health Nurse registration with An Bord Altranais, Social Worker registration with CORU, Occupational Therapist registration with CORU, or Psychotherapist accreditation by the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) or the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
They will also have a minimum of three years' full-time, or equivalent, post-qualification/accreditation experience working in health and social care settings, therapeutic organisations, or related settings to support people with their mental health needs.
Experience of applying core therapeutic mental health skills, assessment, formulation, providing evidence-informed therapeutic interventions, and evaluation is essential.
