Kildare Project: Large Defence Sector Development Salary:Negotiable DOE A leading Irish main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the project team on a multi-million euro Defence Forces facility in County Kildare. The development includes state-of-the-art accommodation, training, and operational facilities for specialist military personnel - a complex and technically demanding project requiring precision, professionalism, and strong site coordination skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to gain exposure to a large, high-specification public works project while working with one of Irelands most respected contractors. Key Responsibilities Set out, level, and survey the site in accordance with project requirements. Oversee and coordinate technical and site activities to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and to specification. Liaise with project management, design teams, and subcontractors to maintain workflow and resolve technical queries. Manage quality assurance, site records, and documentation. Assist in compiling as-built drawings and handover documentation. Monitor and report on progress against the project programme. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and environmental requirements. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. 3+ years experience as a Site Engineer on commercial, industrial, or public sector projects. Strong setting-out experience (using Total Station / GPS equipment). Excellent knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and site documentation. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple trades and tasks. Proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance.
