Child Counsellor
The position involves working with children on a sessional basis to provide counselling services.
Counselling sessions are typically 8 weeks long and involve providing support to the child in addressing specific issues or concerns. The counsellor will work closely with the child, their parents, and other relevant parties to develop strategies for supporting the child's emotional well-being and promoting positive outcomes.
About the Role:
- Provide high-quality counselling services to children, ensuring that all interactions are professional and confidential.
- Develop and implement individualized plans for each child, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
- Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions, including progress notes and outcome assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to ensure that the child receives comprehensive support and care.
Requirements:
- A recognized qualification at Level 7 (primary degree) or higher in a relevant human science field, such as psychology, social work, or education.
- Relevant experience providing counselling services to children, either in a clinical or community setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
