MEICA Project Engineer
Location: Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.
Minimum of a Level 7 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
Interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.
Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
Ability to engage with suppliers and sub‑contractors at procurement stage and in the delivery of their scope of supply during contract delivery.
Ability to use own initiative, problem‑solve and adjust as issues arise during project delivery.
Good working knowledge of MS Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Good working knowledge of GPS, total station and CAD.
Strong communication skills with a high level of motivation.
Full driving licence.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any time, embracing a "one team" culture.
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on site.
Be familiar with the HSQE management system and procedures in conjunction with statutory requirements.
Be available and willing to provide coverage if the project manager is absent, acting as the day‑to‑day site manager.
Understand programme and budgets for the project, fully recognizing the impact of any overruns.
Review, prepare and submit detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments before work activities commence.
Ensure the project is delivered in line with quality procedures and that all FAT, SAT, ITRs, pipe pressure tests, hydrostatic tank tests and commissioning are completed according to the quality plan and Employer's Requirements.
Prepare and submit project handover files including O&M Manuals, Safety Files and As‑Constructed Drawings.
Ensure design, materials and workmanship meet specified requirements.
Engage with suppliers and sub‑contract chains to select vendors, provide recommendations on equipment and use procurement software to order or award materials and subcontracts as required.
Liaise with relevant consultants, subcontractors, site staff, commercial resources and the overall site team.
Run weekly whiteboard meetings on site, planning the efficient and safe delivery of works.
Interact daily with the employer's representatives, stakeholders and members of the public.
Monitor progress on site to ensure delivery in line with the works programme, adjusting workflow and rates as necessary to meet or improve the project completion date.
Keep current with the latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).
Show eagerness to learn and progress, and help mentor and train more junior staff.
Other duties as required from time to time.
