The 4* Galmont Hotel (Part of the MHL Hotel Collection) is currently recruiting an Assistant Restaurant Manager.
REPORTS TO Restaurant Manager
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
To maximise guest satisfaction by supervising the restaurant providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous and quality beverage service to restaurant guests in line with departmental and hotel guidelines.
TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISES AND PROVIDES EFFICIENT, PROMPT, TROUBLEFREE, COURTEOUS AND QUALITY RESTAURANT SERVICE
* Supervises the bars
* Attends weekly meeting with the Restaurant Manager to compile the rosters for all the F&D outlets
* Ensures the restaurant roster is in Alkimii and rosters are balanced on a daily basis.
* Controls wage cost in line with the budget
* Controls stock and wastage.
* Implementing fully the steps of service in the restaurant and bringing forward suggestions for improvements
* Serves restaurant guests their orders promptly and courteously
* Training and motivating staff in order to ensure exceptional guest service at all times
* Dealing with difficult customers and ensuring that the proper complaint-handling process is implemented at all times
* Maintains knowledge of restaurant inventory and wine selection to respond properly to guest questions
* Maintains a thorough knowledge of standard policies and procedures regarding cash handling, check-writing, credit cards, city ledger and customer ledger
* Maintains the restaurant reservation list, and checks the restaurant reservations list frequently during the shift
* Analyses budget, and takes action when required
