Job Title: Social Care Practitioner
Location: Limerick/Clare
Role Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Reports To: Centre Manager / Line Manager
About the Role
Noel Group is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Social Care Practitioner on behalf of a client operating within the accommodation and resident support sector. This role is centred around supporting residents with a broad range of social care and integration needs, with a particular focus on vulnerable individuals and those requiring additional support accessing services and community resources.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting resident wellbeing, supporting integration into the local community, and ensuring residents have access to appropriate healthcare, education, social supports, and advocacy services. Key Responsibilities
Resident Support & Wellbeing

Support and promote the overall wellbeing, dignity, safety, and independence of residents at all times.
Develop, implement, and monitor Integration Plans tailored to the individual needs of residents.
Identify residents with additional or special reception needs and ensure appropriate supports are put in place.
Provide practical and emotional support to residents in a compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive manner.
Respond proactively to resident queries, concerns, and complaints, ensuring all matters are managed professionally and efficiently.
Assist residents in accessing healthcare services, trauma counselling, education, training, childcare, family supports, and community resources.
Signpost and/or refer residents to relevant external services and agencies where appropriate.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with local service providers and community organisations including:

GPs and healthcare providers
Schools, colleges, and educational institutions
Family and child support services
Volunteer and charity organisations
Citizen Information services
Local sporting and community groups
Religious and faith‑based organisations


Establish and maintain effective communication channels with national support organisations and NGOs including organisations focused on migrant, refugee, women’s, and human rights supports.
Encourage resident participation and integration within the wider local community.

Safeguarding & Vulnerability Support

Identify vulnerable residents and implement appropriate support and safeguarding measures.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and up‑to‑date records in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
Ensure all safeguarding, welfare, and protection concerns are escalated appropriately.
Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and anti‑discriminatory practice in all aspects of the role.

Operational & Team Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
Maintain excellent professional relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner organisations.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and best practice standards.
Participate in training, supervision, team meetings, and continuous professional development.
Carry out additional duties as reasonably required by management.

Key Requirements
Essential Requirements

QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or a related discipline.
Previous experience working within social care, community support, residential services, refugee support services, homeless services, or similar environments.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma‑informed practice, and person‑centred care.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational, administration, and problem‑solving abilities.
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Good working knowledge of relevant social support services and referral pathways in Ireland.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to maintain accurate records.
Full clean driving licence desirable.

Desirable Requirements

Experience working with migrant, refugee, or international protection applicants.
Knowledge of Irish social care legislation, child protection, and safeguarding frameworks.
Additional training in trauma‑informed care, mental health support, conflict resolution, or intercultural awareness.
Experience liaising with external agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
