Water and Wastewater Applications Engineer

1. This challenging role involves conducting research on global water and wastewater markets, including customer and partner ecosystems, market technology trends, and global challenges in the industry.
2. You will meet with customers to identify and understand their problems and pain points, including executives, facilities managers, consulting engineers, and field operators in municipal and industrial settings.
3. Your responsibilities will include communicating how solutions address general industry challenges and specific site-related issues to key stakeholders.
4. You will prepare technical and commercial documents such as proposals, tenders, white papers, and grant applications with strong writing and presentation skills.
5. Visuals and graphics should be used effectively to enhance communication of problems and solutions.
6. You will collect and review tenders, supporting the preparation of proposals and bids to align with specified requirements.
7. Collaboration with team members is essential to meet deadlines for deliverables and contribute to construction or installation projects in the water and wastewater sectors.
8. You will assess material and equipment costs, pricing structures, and margins for commercial engineering tasks.
9. Site visits will be organized to gather performance data, engage with facilities managers and field operators, and perform tasks such as site reconnaissance, measurements, and sampling.
10. Maintaining a valid driver's license and availability for international travel to meet clients in various regions is required.
11. Progress and outcomes will be reported effectively, working towards targets set by the Technical Lead or Executive Management Team.
12. Efficiency under pressure while applying strong problem-solving and decision-making skills is expected.
13. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with flexibility, independence, and creativity in resolving project challenges.

Requirements:

14. A proven track record in design, analysis, sales, or application engineering, preferably in civil or mechanical engineering disciplines related to water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, design, or construction, or within the general construction industry.
15. An undergraduate degree in an engineering field is required, with a preference for Civil or Environmental Engineering.
16. PREFERRED five years of related experience and/or training.
17. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
18. Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
19. The ability to provide efficient, timely, dependable, and courteous service to customers and author technical reports and correspondence.
20. Responsiveness to customers, partners, and internal colleagues is crucial.
21. Capable of effectively presenting information to internal teams and/or groups of employees.
22. A proven analytical and quantitative skills with experience developing solutions to problems, drawing on the analysis of others, and making recommendations with direct project impact.
23. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
24. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and drawing software such as CAD.
25. The ability to solve advanced technical problems and navigate complex situations with multiple options.
26. Understanding of wastewater treatment technologies and related equipment, including aeration equipment and biological processes, is highly beneficial.
27. The ability to read, understand, analyze, and comment on technical documents, including agreements, project charters, surveys, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
28. Familiarity with mechanical equipment specifications.
29. An engineering mindset with a proactive and self-driven approach.
30. Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
31. Adaptive and resilient in a fast-paced, dynamic market environment.
