Cancer Care Specialist Role
This role involves providing comprehensive cancer information, support and guidance to patients, carers and healthcare professionals. It encompasses answering queries about all aspects of cancer via phone, email or online channels. Additionally, it entails referring service users to relevant healthcare professionals and/or organisations in line with hospital policies.
* Provide critical health checks and educational programmes to support cancer prevention and early detection.
* Offer expert advice and support on behavioural change and signpost to appropriate cancer screening and support services.
* Manage teams of volunteers assigned to provide cancer-related support, ensuring their availability and presence at designated locations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver patient education programmes locally and online, incorporating evidence-based information and best practices.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and support for individuals affected by cancer.
