About the Role
Nicholas O'Dwyer is expanding its project team to support a major national infrastructure programme involving large-scale civil works, transport-related infrastructure, enabling works, systems interfaces, environmental management, site delivery, and programme governance.
We are seeking senior professionals with strong infrastructure delivery experience to support planning, design oversight, contract administration, construction supervision, safety governance, environmental management, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination across the programme lifecycle. High value metro rail or similar project experience will be an added advantage.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary depending on assignment and may include:
* Leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary work packages across planning, design, construction and commissioning phases.
* Managing project schedules, progress reporting, risk registers, design deliverables, and interface coordination.
* Overseeing on-site works to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety legislation, environmental requirements and quality standards.
* Managing enabling works, site logistics, temporary works coordination, construction sequencing and readiness reviews.
* Conducting site inspections, audits, technical assessments and quality verification activities.
* Reviewing and approving technical documentation such as method statements, inspection test plans, design submissions, environmental plans and construction reports.
* Ensuring effective implementation of environmental mitigation measures, monitoring regimes, incident management and sustainability obligations.
* Promoting and upholding the highest standards of health & safety, including reviewing risk assessments, conducting safety walkdowns, supporting incident investigations and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
* Liaising with designers, contractors, utilities, regulatory bodies, stakeholders and project teams to ensure efficient delivery and resolution of technical issues.
* Supporting procurement processes, tender evaluations, commercial assessments and contract administration activities.
* Providing leadership, guidance and technical oversight to ensure successful delivery of programme objectives.
* Maintaining a culture of continuous improvements across all aspects of the working environment and projects.
* Training will be provided to fulfil the requirements of your role, your participation to all essential training will be required.
* To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum Level 8 Degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Structural, Environmental, Construction Management, Safety, Engineering or related relevant discipline.
* 10+ years' experience in major civil, transport, utilities or large-scale infrastructure projects.
* PMP, CCM and OSHA Certification an added advantage for some of the envisaged roles.
* Demonstrated experience in programme delivery, construction oversight, environmental compliance, H&S governance or quality management.
* Strong knowledge of Irish construction regulations, quality and industry standards and site practices.
* Knowledge of contract standards (e.g., FIDIC, NEC) and public-sector delivery models.
* NEC Project Manager and knowledge / experience using CEMAR an added advantage.
* Strong project management skills
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland.
* Competent in office packages, Microsoft, excel PowerPoint etc.
* Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently.
* You will have an agile and "Can Do" mindset.
