We are a ready-mix concrete manufacturer & quarrying business supplying commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. With a strong focus on reliability, quality, and service, we operate a modern fleet and batching facilities to support a diverse customer base. We are now seeking an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen our financial position and bring new systems and processes into place.
Role Overview
The Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations of the business, ensuring robust reporting, tight cost control, and strong compliance. This role requires someone who ideally with experience in ready-mix concrete, construction, construction materials, or logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
* Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial statements.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax filings, and audit processes.
* Maintain strong internal financial controls.
Costing & Operational Finance
* Manage and update mix design costing (cement, aggregates, admixtures).
* Track delivery costs, fleet efficiencies, fuel usage, and plant overheads.
* Provide cost-per-m³ analytics and operational KPI reporting.
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
* Model scenarios for raw material price changes, fleet utilisation, and market shifts.
* Support commercial teams with pricing and margin strategies.
Working Capital & Cashflow
* Oversee cashflow, credit control, supplier management, and inventory levels.
* Improve DSO, manage customer credit limits, and reduce overdue accounts.
Capex & Asset Management
* Evaluate investment cases for new mixer trucks, batching plants, and equipment.
* Track asset depreciation, maintenance budgets, and replacement cycles.
Leadership & Collaboration
* Partner with operations, sales, logistics, and senior management.
* Improve systems, reporting quality, and financial discipline across the business.
Qualifications & Experience
* Valid ACCA certificate.
* 5+ years' experience in financial leadership roles.
* Background in ready-mix concrete, construction, construction materials, manufacturing, or fleet-based operations strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and operational finance.
* Proficiency in financial systems and Excel/BI tools.
* Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: €40,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
