We are seeking a Registered Midwife (RM) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) with midwifery experience to work regular shifts on a maternity ward in an acute setting.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality care to women and babies, working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Requirements
* RMs or RGNs with maternity experience who can commit to regular shifts
* RGNs keen to work on a postnatal ward
An immediate start is required, with a commitment to continuity of care essential.
Some key duties include:
* Providing midwifery care to women and babies according to best practice and evidence-based frameworks
* Practicing midwifery that promotes normality during preconceptual, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods
* Fulfilling obligations regarding the registration and notification of births
* Managing a caseload as required
* Promoting the health, welfare, and social well-being of all women and babies
* Participating as a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary team member in all aspects of service delivery
* Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual person-centred care programmes within an agreed framework and in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines
* Developing and promoting good interpersonal relationships with patients, their family/social network supports, and the multi-disciplinary care team
* Ensuring care is carried out in an empathetic and ethical manner, respecting the dignity, spiritual needs, and individuality of each patient
* Promoting and recognising the social and cultural dimensions of care
* Collaborating and working closely with patients, their families, the multi-disciplinary team, external agencies, and services to facilitate discharge planning, continuity of care, and specific care requirements
* Maintaining accurate written midwifery records and reports regarding women/patient care in accordance with local/national/professional and confidentiality guidelines
