Senior Quantity Surveyor Role Overview
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong working knowledge of project management principles and practices. This role involves managing the financial aspects of construction projects from initiation to completion.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with the project team to ensure delivery on budget and programme.
* Source and appoint subcontractors and suppliers in line with project budgets and commercial strategies.
* Issue formal subcontractor orders and maintain clear contract documentation.
* Develop comprehensive project budgets for approval by the Commercial Director.
* Contribute to the selection and procurement of plant and equipment.
* Identify and communicate potential additional costs in accordance with contract terms.
* Participate in site meetings, internal reviews, and subcontractor discussions as needed.
* Carry out regular, detailed financial analysis of project performance and report findings to the Commercial Director.
* Manage variation accounts and agree valuations with the design team throughout the construction phase.
* Prepare and finalise the project final account ensuring all commercial elements are closed out efficiently.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
* Proactive team player with a results-focused mindset.
* Clear and professional communicator, both written and verbal.
