You will collaborate closely with our design and product teams, gathering requirements, building solutions, and providing guidance to team members on best-practice approaches to follow. You will be a partner to our developers, helping understand their needs and championing positive engineering practices.What you'll do:SiriusXM is looking for a creative and collaborative Senior Software Engineer with experience building modern consumer web applications. As a member of our Experience Engineering team, you willparticipate in important design and development decisions and play a key role in developing SiriusXM streaming music services (SiriusXM, Pandora), used daily by millions of listeners.What you'll need:● A strong interest in collaborating via code reviews and technical discussions.● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.● A growth mindset and an ability to learn quickly.● 4+ years demonstrable professional experience and 2+ years developing solutions for consumer web applications.● Excellent understanding of visual and interaction design principles, empowering strong collaboration between engineering and design.● Solid command of web standards, best practices, accessibility, and browser compatibility issues.● Clear understanding of visual design principles, including color, typography, layouts, interactivity, and motion.● Exposure to interactive UI prototyping tools such as Figma, or similar.● Demonstrable experience building responsive and mobile web experiences.● Expert at debugging code errors and troubleshooting UI and API issues.● Exposure to architectural design patterns of highly scaled web applications.● Experience writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests with Jest, Vitest, or similar.● Proficient with front-end languages including HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS.● Solid understanding of React and related technologies.● Nice to have experience with Webpack, Vite, or similar, and related JavaScript / TypeScript tooling.● Nice to have familiarity with trunk-based development.● Nice to have familiarity with HTML5/JavaScript environments beyond web browsers, such as HTML-based TV applications.
