As a Technical Program Manager, you will be a leader and innovator, finding new ways to improve efficiency, speed, and security while maintaining compliance and customer trust.
You will lead cross-functional teams, focusing on delivering new features, services, products, and systems. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, documenting specifications, resource planning, assembling teams, assigning responsibilities, and developing milestones and schedules to ensure successful delivery. You will assess risks, measure progress, resolve bottlenecks, escalate issues, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
Your work impacts Amazon's business, ensuring a secure, robust, and reliable experience for payments partners, business units, and customers.
Key job responsibilities
You are responsible for managing complex, impactful cross-functional programs. Your scope may focus on a specific product or span multiple organizations or geographies. You define program goals, analyze data, drive metric improvements, and influence resource allocation. You understand system limitations and architectural decisions.
You facilitate discussions to align stakeholder needs, provide long-term perspectives, and collaborate with customers and technical teams to prioritize projects. You use technical judgment to evaluate proposals and ensure scalability. You create clear plans with measurable success criteria and communicate progress effectively.
You proactively identify and mitigate risks, demonstrate good judgment in escalation, and are data-driven, regularly reviewing metrics to keep the program aligned with organizational goals.
You are an excellent communicator, capable of writing compelling narratives and presenting to senior leadership. You build consensus, influence others, and mentor colleagues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating releases
* Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
* Experience in system design
* Extensive technical program management experience partnering with engineering teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management
* Experience managing projects across teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating releases
* Experience defining KPIs/SLA's for multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
