Job Overview
The role of a Data Operations Engineer involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, storage solutions, and infrastructure to enable efficient data processing, analytics, and integrations. As part of this team, you will focus on ETL/ELT workflows and data processing systems, ensuring clean, structured, and accessible data for analytics, reporting, and product features.
Key responsibilities include ownership of data pipeline, ETL/ELT and analytics processes, participating in backend application development, specifically all things SQL, contributing to query design and optimization across all areas of the technology stack, leading the design and building of new data integrations & APIs, and handling day-to-day data issues, bugs, inquiries, studies and other projects as needed by our analyst team and customers.
Requirements
* Strong experience and enthusiasm for database design, data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing
* Experience and enthusiasm for data pipeline development & ETL/ETL processes
* Strong experience and enthusiasm for MySQL and PostgreSQL
* MS SQL is a plus
* Experience with or willingness to master Perl
* Self-driven and motivated with a desire to learn new skills and develop yourself and those around you
* Loves to tweak complex queries for performance gains
* Eager to learn mature systems and to own and be a good steward of legacy backend applications and technologies
* Interested in AI and how it can be applied to solve real world use cases through data
* Experience with system administration of Linux is a plus
* Experience with full stack web development, php, React, etc is a plus
