Job Description:
External Job Description: Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, a non-profit organization based in Dublin, Ireland, provides services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Ireland. The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team within the Under 18 Residential Services, supporting young people aged 15-18 who are out of home in a short-term residential setting.
What you will do:
* Work within the framework of the overall objective of the organization and the values of the agency.
* Work as part of a team within the policies and procedures in place for the project or as directed by the project leader, assistant project leader, or section manager.
* Act as a key worker for individual young people and collaborate with external agencies regarding referred young people.
* Develop individualized programs exploring clients’ experiences of homelessness and support them to break this cycle, preparing them for move-on to an identified placement or independent living.
* Support young people who have experienced trauma or present with challenging behaviors.
* Advocate for young people's housing, social work, welfare, education, training, and legal rights.
* Support young people in accordance with their statutory care plan and develop individual placement plans.
* Refer and support young people with external agencies to assist with personal, social, educational, employment, legal, and accommodation needs.
* Maintain records in line with statutory requirements and health and safety legislation.
* Participate in team, review, and agency meetings as required.
* Assist in implementing the settlement policies and strategies of Focus Ireland.
* Perform other duties as assigned in consultation with the Project Leader.
* Observe all Health, Safety, and Welfare at Work regulations and report risks or concerns.
* Be available to participate in a 7-day, 24-hour roster.
What you will need:
* Experience working in a children's residential center or with children with complex needs.
* A third-level qualification in Social Care or a related field.
* Full clean driver's license.
* Knowledge of childhood adversity's impact on adolescents.
* Awareness of HIQA National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
* Ability to manage and support teenagers in crisis with challenging behaviors.
* High standard of written communication.
* Understanding of Child Protection and response to concerns.
* Knowledge of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model.
* Teamwork skills and support.
