About the Role
The Maintenance and Improvement Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of high-volume, high-speed assembly machines. This involves conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementing continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* IDentify areas for process enhancements to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
* Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams to resolve daily issues and facilitate effective troubleshooting
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to analyze breakdowns and performance issues, applying learnings to improve preventative maintenance practices
* Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned machine groups, driving knowledge sharing and expertise development
* Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and local engineering services to ensure seamless integration and support
* Analyze customer complaints and internal quality issues, working closely with stakeholders to develop improvements and preventative actions to eliminate defects
* Assist in training and developing other engineering technicians, new recruits, and apprentices as required
* Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and housekeeping standards, ensuring a safe and clean work environment
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* Degree or National Craft Certificate + specialized training
* Industrial experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments
* A scientific approach to problem-solving, combining analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently on specific tasks
* Relevant PC skills and proficiency in software applications
