Cpl has the pleasure of working with a leading company in the Energy Sector who is looking to hire a Financial Accountant to join their growing team.
Financial Accountant
Location: Dublin 15 - (Occasional travel to our Kildare facility required)
Role Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
* Produce weekly KPI reports on plant performance, energy generation, and cost efficiency.
* Manage the month-end and year-end financial close processes for both facilities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analyses, and financial performance packs.
* Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
* Financial modelling.
* Support operational teams with financial insights, budgeting, and forecasting for plant performance and efficiency projects.
* Collaborate with the Head Office Finance Team on consolidation, reporting, and financial system improvements.
* Ensure compliance with FRS102 and internal financial controls.
* Prepare capital expenditure tracking reports for ongoing projects, project accounting, and cost control for maintenance and expansion projects.
* Core cost tracking and profit maximisation.
* Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support management decisions and operational planning.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Qualified or Finalist Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in FRS102 reporting.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
* 2+ years PQE in an industrial, utilities, or renewable energy setting preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently, with ongoing support from the Head Office Finance Team.
* Comfortable in a collaborative, cross‑functional work environment and dealing with operational teams.
* A valid driving licence and access to a car are required for commuting to the facility sites.
