We are seeking a
Senior Business Analyst – AI & Automation
who will serve as the critical link between business units and the AI & Automation team.
This role reports directly to the VP, McKesson Technology – AI & Automation.
The role is responsible for engaging with stakeholders across the organization to identify, qualify, and shape AI opportunities, translating business needs into actionable use cases and ensuring use cases move from concept to execution.
The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in validating and communicating value delivery.
Basic / Required Skills
Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within technology transformation, data, or AI-driven environments.
Strong ability to engage with business stakeholders at all levels, eliciting and documenting requirements with clarity and precision.
Experience in developing business cases, including benefit identification, cost estimation, and ROI analysis.
Demonstrated capability in use case development, from initial opportunity identification through to detailed requirements specification.
Solid understanding of AI, automation, and analytics concepts, with the ability to assess feasibility and business fit of proposed solutions.
Excellent facilitation and workshop skills, able to lead discovery sessions and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience in benefits tracking and value realisation, including defining success metrics and measuring outcomes post-implementation.
Strong documentation skills, producing clear artefacts including requirements specifications, process maps, and user stories.
Key Accountabilities
Partner with business units across McKesson to identify and qualify AI and automation opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.
Lead discovery workshops and requirements gathering sessions, translating business challenges into well-defined use cases.
Develop comprehensive business cases for AI initiatives, articulating expected benefits, resource requirements, and success criteria.
Requirements & Solution Shaping
Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements, working collaboratively with the Technical AI Enablement Lead to ensure technical feasibility.
Create clear artefacts including process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria to support solution design and delivery.
Act as the voice of the business throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring requirements are understood and met.
Value Validation & Benefits Realisation
Define and agree success metrics and KPIs for each use case in partnership with business stakeholders and the AI Transformation Delivery Lead.
Track and report on benefits realisation, ensuring delivered solutions achieve their intended business impact.
Conduct post-implementation reviews, capturing lessons learned and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
Build trusted relationships with business unit leaders and subject matter experts, becoming a go-to resource for AI opportunity exploration.
Communicate progress, findings, and recommendations clearly to both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
Support change management activities, helping business units prepare for and adopt AI-enabled solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years of relevant professional experience, including 3+ years in business analysis roles supporting technology or transformation programmes.
Experience working on AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics initiatives.
Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Business analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP, BCS) are advantageous.
Experience working in large, complex, multinational organisations, preferably within healthcare or regulated industries.
