Job Description:
Serves as a senior compliance risk analyst for Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), responsible for establishing internal strategies, policies, procedures, and processes related to monitoring and fostering awareness of sanctions regulatory requirements that Citi must comply with. The role involves assessing sanctions risk exposure, overseeing sanctions control processes, and setting global standards to manage and mitigate sanctions risks, thereby protecting the franchise. Additionally, the analyst supports the collation of potential breaches of sanctions across the firm and collaborates with Business and Compliance contacts to ensure consistent application and implementation of sanctions standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Analyzing data, preparing, and presenting regional and global reports on sanctions risk assessments and monitoring issues with senior management and global partners.
* Supporting a team of ICRM officers responsible for program execution activities.
* Contributing to the design and maintenance of a comprehensive ICRM Sanctions Framework (standards and policies).
* Partnering with functional and regional/global stakeholders to identify, vet, and address potential risks during due diligence or escalations. Escalate material risks and non-adherence issues to the Chief Sanctions Officer and direct investigations as appropriate.
* Monitoring compliance with Citi’s Global Sanctions Policy and staying updated on regulatory changes, enforcement actions, and industry trends.
* Overseeing adherence to procedures to ensure standards are met across front line units.
* Raising awareness of sanctions trends, emerging issues, and program enhancements with relevant teams.
* Supporting internal audits and regulatory evaluations; tracking and challenging remedial actions.
* Drafting and editing sanctions-related reference materials and supporting electronic record-keeping for sanctions licenses and disclosures. Participating in sanctions training programs.
* Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Preferably expertise in AML and Sanctions regulations, risks, and typologies.
* Knowledge of compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks, and typologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive.
* Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration at all organizational levels.
* Ability to work with regional and global partners and navigate a complex organization.
* Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant knowledge in the focus area.
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree; experience in compliance, legal, or related control functions within financial services, regulatory bodies, or legal/consulting firms. Experience in the focus area is preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
