Job Title: Finance Operations Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Finance Operations Specialist to join our growing finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for producing management accounts, managing multiple entities across the UK and Ireland, and providing financial support to the Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Producing monthly management accounts for review and consolidation.
2. Preparing and posting prepayment & accrual journals on Sage.
3. Assisting with monthly stock reconciliation and cost analysis versus budget.
4. Conducting balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances.
5. Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting and operational queries.
6. Preparing VAT returns (UK & Ireland), Intrastat, payroll returns, and CSO reporting.
7. Liaising with auditors.
8. Assisting with projects to improve internal controls.
9. Providing cover and support for AP, AR, and Payroll functions.
10. Offering holiday cover and backup for the Financial Controller as needed.
Requirements
* Proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Excel.
* Working knowledge of Sage software (advantageous but not required).
* Relevant qualification — qualified accountant or experienced accountant capable of producing management accounts.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to question and clarify details, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Positive attitude and ability to multitask.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
* Team player, flexible to business needs and month-end processes.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
* Discretion when handling sensitive information.
