You'll be joining a team that values curiosity, has autonomy, and demands technical excellence.The RoleThe Junior Networks Engineer supports the delivery of Diacom's networking projects, solutions, and services across new and existing customer environments. The role is responsible for the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, while ensuring continuity of service, customer satisfaction, and ongoing revenue for the networks vertical of the business. The position also contributes to the development of new service lines, supports the helpdesk with escalations, and maintains high-quality documentation and technical standards.What You'll DoAssist in designing and deploying network solutions for new and existing customer environments.Install, configure, and support networking equipment including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.Maintain and optimise customer networks, including but not limited to:Firewalls – FortiGate, Palo AltoNetwork Switches – HPE Aruba, FortinetWireless Solutions – HPE Aruba, FortinetDeploy, configure, and maintain:Switch infrastructureWireless network solutionsFirewall systemsConfigure and support secure Network Access Control (NAC) using HPE Aruba ClearPass for AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting).Monitor network performance using tools such as HPE IMC and Paessler PRTG.Provide Level 2 support to the Diacom Helpdesk team.Maximise network uptime and performance through proactive monitoring, diagnostics, and issue resolution.Perform scheduled upgrades and firmware updates across customer network equipment.What We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who:Exposure to/or experience with enterprise networking technologies (Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto).Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across wired and wireless networks.Understanding of NAC principles and AAA frameworks.Familiarity with network monitoring tools.Strong communication and customer service orientation.Ability to produce accurate technical documentation.Nice to HaveBachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security controlsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environment and follow established proceduresThis role is a full-time, permanent position, based in our office in Park West, Dublin 12. At least initially, this is a fully office-based/road role with direct mentoring to ensure you're fully equipped for success in the role.
