Job Title: Engineering Technician (Assembly)

Contract Duration: 12-month

Work Schedule: Days

Interview Process: 1–2 rounds (virtual and onsite)

Engineering – Tooling, Moulding, Assembly

Key Responsibilities

* Work collaboratively with Moulding, Tooling, and Assembly teams to support operations in compliance with safety, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
* Drive site performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
* Partner with Operations to ensure daily production targets are met.
* Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment and process routine maintenance.
* Interface with equipment vendors for issue resolution and upgrades.
* Support and drive the site’s Maintenance Excellence Programme.
* Fabricate mechanical and electrical parts for repairs, upgrades, and maintenance.
* Participate in project teams and carry out assigned tasks to completion.
* Provide technical support to optimize moulding and assembly processes and maintain production schedules.
* Support operational and strategic projects as needed.
* Ensure accurate documentation of all activities in line with cGMP requirements.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality, safety, environmental, and production systems.
* Execute manufacturing documentation, commissioning, and validation protocols.
* Provide efficient maintenance services across moulds, moulding machines, assembly, and test equipment.
* Perform equipment calibration as per procedural requirements.
* Maintain and update Maintenance and Calibration systems to ensure compliance.
* Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings for decision-making and process improvement.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in:
* Injection moulding machines and tooling (equipment, process, electrical/mechanical tasks)
* Automated and semi-automated assembly processes
* Process control and electrical/mechanical systems
* Ensure overall cGMP compliance of production areas.
* Complete all work using the Maximo management system.

Required Qualifications & Experience

* Leaving Certificate, Senior Level Trade Certificate, or FETAC Level 6 technical qualification (or willingness to obtain).
* Experience in at least one of the following technical areas:
* Mold Tooling
* Electrical Systems
* Automation
* Operating computer-interfaced equipment
* ERP system interaction
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment post-qualification.
* At least 2 years' experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills on complex equipment.
* Strong problem-solving under pressure with the ability to evaluate multiple solutions.
* Innovative thinker who regularly proposes and implements new solutions.
* High attention to detail and accuracy to ensure compliance with all procedures.
* Results-driven with a focus on achieving targets and performance metrics.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong work ethic and high integrity.
* Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and “Right First Time” ethos.
* Supports and understands the principles of Perfect Performance.

* Responsible for presenting technical data to support decision-making.
* Manages training and development queries, escalating major issues when necessary.

Supervision

* Operates largely self-managed with periodic supervision.

EHS Responsibilities

* Comply with all EHS policies and procedures.
* Promote and practice EHS best standards in all tasks.
* Report any EHS incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.
* Identify and submit EHS improvement opportunities.
* Attend all required EHS and medical training.
* Wear appropriate PPE at all times.

Top Technical Skills for Success

* Experience in a dynamic medical device or regulated manufacturing environment.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in assembly automation.
* Hands-on experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
* Background in automation validation within a regulated setting.
* Effective communication and strong analytical capabilities.
