The Head of Services is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, governance and continuous development of all therapeutic and client support services. This includes psychotherapy, psychosocial supports and rehabilitation services delivered to individuals affected by trauma and complex needs.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the HoS will provide strong clinical leadership, support high‑quality and sustainable service delivery, and contribute to organisational strategy and decision‑making.
Responsibilities of Head of Services
Provide strategic leadership across all clinical and therapeutic services.
Contribute to organisational strategy and planning as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Lead service development, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Support integration and alignment between clinical services and organisational activities.
Hold responsibility for clinical governance and compliance with professional, ethical, safeguarding and regulatory standards.
Oversee clinical policies, procedures, supervision, risk management and incident reporting systems.
Promote reflective practice, continuous learning and trauma‑informed approaches.
Provide leadership and support to clinical managers, team leads and practitioners.
Ensure effective supervision, performance management and professional development arrangements.
Support staff wellbeing and contribute to workforce planning, recruitment and retention.
Work collaboratively with senior leadership colleagues to support integrated service delivery, operational planning and financial sustainability.
Contribute to reporting, funding applications and stakeholder engagement as required.
Represent My Client in external forums, networks and partnerships.
Maintain strong relationships with statutory bodies, professional organisations and sector partners.
Requirements of Head of Services – Social Care
A recognised qualification in a relevant clinical discipline such as psychology, psychotherapy, psychiatry, medicine, social work or equivalent.
Significant post‑qualification clinical experience, ideally within trauma‑informed or complex needs settings.
Senior leadership or management experience within health, mental health, psychosocial or rehabilitation services.
Experience in clinical governance, quality assurance and multidisciplinary team leadership.
Experience working with survivors of trauma, refugees, asylum seekers or marginalised populations.
Experience within NGO, community or human rights‑based organisations.
Experience contributing to service development and funding proposals.
