Health Care Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team at Mount Hybla Nursing Home. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our residents.
About the Role
The Health Care Assistant is an integral part of our team, working closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Providing personal care and hygiene assistance to residents
* Supporting the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of residents
* Assisting with meal delivery and feeding residents
* Cleaning and maintaining resident rooms and common areas
* Providing incontinence and toilet care, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags
* Collaborating with trained nurses to provide psychological and social support as needed
Responsibilities
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be expected to:
1. Undertake hygiene and dress care functions for residents
2. Ensure safe manual handling and transfer of residents within the nursing home
3. Deliver food to and feed residents
4. Return used trays and dishes to the kitchen, leaving residents and their rooms neat and tidy
5. Make beds and change linens
6. Provide incontinence and toilet care to residents
7. Assist trained nurses with provision of psychological and social support as needed
8. Continuously monitor dignity, comfort, safety, and whereabouts of residents
9. Adhere to hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times
