Ecologist Role
The role involves supporting the delivery of ecological impact assessments, conducting ecological surveys, environmental assessments and biodiversity chapters. This position also includes working on nature-based solutions and regenerative designs.
Candidates will have experience working in a consultancy or regulatory role in the environmental assessment field with a proven track record of working on Environmental Impact Assessment processes.
* A postgraduate qualification in a relevant biological/environmental science subject is required with practical experience.
* A highly motivated individual with good interpersonal skills and team approach is needed.
* Excellent field skills and knowledge of Irish wildlife are essential.
* Demonstrated field survey experience in ecology including habitat classification, badger, otter, bat, bird and invasive species surveys is necessary.
* Familiarity with relevant Irish and European legislation such as Habitats Directive, Birds Directive, EIA Directive and transposing Irish Regulations is required.
* Knowledge of Appropriate Assessment as per Article 6 of the Habitats Directive is also necessary.
* Ability to record and process data efficiently and methodically is essential.
* Experience in using GIS/mapping systems and a full clean driving license are also required.

* Familiar with relevant Irish and European legislation e.g. Habitats Directive, Birds Directive, EIA Directive, and transposing Irish Regulations;
* Knowledge of Appropriate Assessment as per Article 6 of the Habitats Directive;
* Ability to record and process data efficiently and methodically;
* Experienced in using GIS/mapping systems;
* Full clean driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
