This Work Placement Experience Programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. It is aimed at jobseekers who are receiving qualifying social welfare payments or are transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Eligibility will be verified by the Department during the application process.
Job Description
* Provide carers to HSE clients, typically older people.
* Deliver customer service and work as part of a team.
* Answer calls, take professional messages, and update carers on client information.
* Send and receive emails to and from carers, including updates and schedule changes.
* Scan documents and email them; upload documents from Outlook to the operating system.
* Photocopy and print documents using a user‑friendly printer.
* Follow up with new carers and request necessary documents for their files.
* Use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Use Onetouch to upload client visits, assign caregivers, and clock in/out for shifts.
* Maintain telephones and use Internet Explorer for related tasks.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience is required. Accredited and sector‑recognised training will support your placement.
* QQI Work Experience Module – optional accredited training supported by the Education & Training Boards.
* Informal training: Service enquiry handling, drafting emails, telephone and message taking, scheduling via email/phone.
* Optional industry training (not mandatory): Dementia training, infection prevention training, Children First training, patient manual‑handling theory and certification, networking and sales training, customer service training.
