As a Cardiology Nurse, you will be working in an environment that prioritises quality, respect, caring and compassion. Your primary duties will include recognising life-threatening arrhythmias, demonstrating expertise in the nursing assessment and management of emergency cardiac admissions, and providing expert cardiology nursing advice. You will also provide educational support to patients and colleagues alike, fostering good communication and working relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Recognise life-threatening and non-life-threatening arrhythmias within CCU and through telemetry monitoring throughout the hospital
* Demonstrate expertise in the nursing assessment and management of emergency cardiac admissions, including administering intravenous opiates and nitrate infusions as prescribed
* Provide expert cardiology nursing advice and educational support to patients and colleagues
* Foster good communication and working relationships within a multidisciplinary team
Requirements:
* Registered General Nurse with The Nursing and Midwifery Bord of Ireland (NMBI)
* Minimum of 4 years working in a coronary care setting
* Competency in ECG interpretation or willingness to undertake study for same
* Evidence of continuous professional development
