The position of Health and Safety Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of employees and maintaining a safe working environment. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the company’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance.
This role involves overseeing and managing all HSE aspects of construction contractor operations on-site. It requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with client representatives and contractor companies.
Responsibilities:
* Assess and evaluate contractor prequalification and requalification questionnaires, along with supporting HSE documentation, as required and requested by Client Representatives.
* Oversee the Contractor Management Portal (CMP) system and provide guidance to Client Representatives and contractor companies on its requirements when necessary.
* Collaborate with Client Representatives to review and approve task-specific method statements and risk assessments.
* Consult with Client Representatives to determine the scope of work for each contractor and establish appropriate training requirements for HSE induction.
* Confirm that contractor companies are HSE qualified to work on-site and that individual contractors scheduled for HSE induction have current SOLAS Safe Pass cards, manual handling training, and other relevant task-specific training.
* Ensure that individual contractors successfully complete general HSE induction knowledge checks before presenting to security for access control cards.
* Conduct induction and specific HSE training for all contractors arriving to site i.e LOTO and hot work training Review and approve permits to work and risk assessment documents for external contractors carrying out on-site work.
* Visit worksites prior to approving permits for high-risk activities, such as high-energy hot work in hazardous areas.
* Perform daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits of permit to work, lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space entry, and general contractor documentation and work practices.
* Actively manage the contractor Safety Observation Report (SOR) programme and participate in the site safety observation programme (B-safe).
* Lead and participate in event investigations and follow up as required.
* Participate in and facilitate contractor HSE meetings as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
* Experience in HSE management fulfilling roles in PSDP & PSCS.
