We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our operations team in Kildare
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical or electrical repairs to a high professional standard.
Carry out routine vehicle inspections and address any issues identified through driver reports or maintenance checks.
Attend breakdowns both on-site and in nearby locations, efficiently diagnosing and resolving faults.
Complete and maintain accurate maintenance and service documentation.
Ensure all work areas, tools, and equipment are kept tidy and safe at all times.
Identify and report safety hazards promptly, promoting a strong safety culture.
Follow company and statutory requirements relating to Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
Support the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) processes.
Communicate effectively with the transport team to keep them informed of vehicle status and progress.
Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues, including apprentices or junior mechanics.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 4 years' experience working as a mechanic in a similar transport, logistics, or industrial environment.
Qualified with a National Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (SOLAS), Advanced Craft Certificate (FETAC Level 6), or equivalent qualification.
Full Category B driver's licence is essential; Category C or CE licence is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Flexible approach with willingness to work on-call and respond to emergency repairs.
Must have legal authorisation to work in Ireland.
Good level of written and spoken English required.
