Job Title: Mechanical QA Lead
The role of the Mechanical QA Lead is to oversee and ensure compliance with all mechanical quality requirements on piping installation projects.
This involves close coordination with construction teams, welding crews, and third-party inspectors to guarantee that all work is executed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements.
The QA Lead will manage documentation, verification of inspection records, and final turnover packages to ensure smooth project closeout.
Responsibilities:
* Welding & Documentation: Gather, verify, and maintain accurate weld logs from site crews on a daily/weekly basis. Transfer weld logs into databases accurately and in a timely manner.
* Cross-check weld numbers, welders' details, and joint traceability against project weld maps and drawings.
* Drawing Control: Manage and update redline/as-built drawings, ensuring all field changes are captured accurately.
* NDE Coordination: Gather Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports from third-party inspectors. Review and verify NDT reports for completeness and compliance with project codes and specifications.
* Test Pack Compilation & Handover: Build and maintain Test Packs in line with project requirements. Ensure all inspection records, weld logs, NDT reports, and punch lists are included in the Test Pack.
* General QA Duties: Implement and monitor project quality procedures in accordance with company Quality Management System (QMS). Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Requirements:
* Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
* 3+ years' experience in mechanical piping installation or process plant QA/QC.
* Strong knowledge of welding processes, codes (ASME, EN), and NDT methods.
* Experience with database systems and document control software.
* Familiarity with hydrostatic and pneumatic test procedures and Test Pack compilation.
