Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments).Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum.Overview of the PostEnable Ireland delivers children’s services through the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. The post holder will provide a range of Psychology services for young people (0 – 18 years) and their families within an interdisciplinary framework, including assessment, intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development, delivered through a family‑centred approach across clinics, preschools, schools, children’s homes and community settings.Overview of Duties & ResponsibilitiesFull list of duties and responsibilities available in the job description. Responsibilities include assessment and intervention, clinical supervision, service development and collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams.Essential CriteriaUniversity degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) with 1st or 2nd class honours in Psychology and honours in the subject.Irish post‑graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, OR an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.Demonstrated competence in the Care Group(s) applied for.Clinical or counselling psychologists must have at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post‑qualification supervised work experience in Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology or Adult Psychology, or equivalent.Educational psychologists must have at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post‑qualification supervised work experience in Child Disability or Child Psychology, or equivalent.Note 2: Combinations of supervised clinical placement experience and post‑qualification supervised work experience within a single care group area summing to 60 days are not acceptable.Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).Applicants qualified outside the Republic must have their qualifications validated by the Department of Health.Meets PSI requirements to work as an Educational Psychologist.Experience working with children aged 0 – 18 years with physical disability, autism, learning disability or similar.Eligible to work within the state.Full driver’s licence with access to own transport.Desirable CriteriaExperience of inter‑ and trans‑disciplinary team working.Experience of working in a disability service.Experience of working with children and adolescents with a range of disabilities after qualification.Knowledge and skills in management of behaviours of concern.Knowledge and skills in conducting diagnostic assessments in children and young people, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities.BenefitsExcellent internal and external training opportunities.Generous annual leave entitlements.Flexible working.Long service reward scheme.Pay‑adjusted maternity leave.Pay‑adjusted adoptive leave.Pay‑adjusted paternity leave.Well‑being benefits.Pension.Application ProcessClosing date for applications: 12 Noon Friday 8th May 2026.Interview date: To be confirmed.Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants from all sections of the community.Reference checks and, where relevant, Garda vetting/police clearance may be required.Due to the large volume of applications, we are not able to provide individual feedback to applicants who are not shortlisted for interview.To apply, download the job description and person specification and complete the online application form.Informal queries may be made by email to Ann Somers at Ann.Somers@hse.ie.
