Role Overview
Our Financial Services client, based in Dublin, is seeking an experienced
Senior Product Owner
to join a high-performing delivery team on an initial 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will take ownership of one or more complex products or workstreams, working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and senior leadership to deliver customer-centric and regulatory-compliant solutions.
This role requires a strong background in
financial services
, excellent stakeholder management skills, and proven experience driving delivery in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the product vision, roadmap and backlog, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements
Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and delivery teams
Translate business requirements into clear, prioritised user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and demos
Make informed prioritisation decisions based on business value, risk, dependencies and delivery constraints
Collaborate closely with Architecture, Engineering, QA, Risk and Compliance teams
Ensure solutions are customer-focused, scalable and compliant with internal governance and regulatory standards
Track and report on delivery progress, risks, issues and dependencies
Support UAT, go-live activities and post-implementation reviews
Required Experience & Skills
7+ years' experience in Product Owner or Senior Product Owner roles
Strong background working within
Financial Services
(banking, payments, lending, insurance or capital markets)
Proven experience delivering complex digital or data-driven products
Extensive experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including engagement at senior level
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience working with distributed or cross-functional delivery teams
Desirable Experience
Experience with digital channels, customer-facing platforms or core banking systems
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations within financial services
Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments
SAFe or other scaled Agile experience
