About The Role
Principal Accountabilities
1. Provide efficient, prompt, trouble-free, courteous, and profitable quality bar service.
2. Upsell to guests by suggesting cocktails, wines, or non-alcoholic beverages, and recommending promotional items. Focus on products with higher profit margins.
3. Maintain thorough knowledge of beverage recipes, mixing procedures, and bar inventory.
4. Ensure the setup and cleanliness of LJ’S Bar, Function bar, storeroom, and cold rooms.
5. Stock and order all supplies and glassware.
6. Display beverage selections attractively.
7. Follow standard policies and procedures regarding cash handling, check-writing, credit cards, customer ledger, human resources, and stock handling.
8. Evaluate the bar menu based on customer feedback and suggest improvements to the Hotel Manager.
9. Comply fully with alcohol and liquor policies and regulations.
10. Ensure accurate billing for all served items.
11. Control costs in line with the budget.
12. Utilize leadership skills and motivation to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction.
13. Monitor the department’s overall service, interaction with other departments, and teamwork daily, encouraging good relationships through communication and regular meetings.
14. Greet guests upon arrival and escort them to their tables professionally and friendly.
15. Supervise LJ’s bar team to ensure standards of presentation and service are maintained.
16. Prepare all mise-en-place for daily service in the bar.
17. Maintain high hygiene standards in all work areas.
18. Promote other facilities and services to guests and make recommendations.
19. Discuss personal training needs for career progression.
20. Attend and assist with training sessions, recognizing and providing team training needs.
21. Complete requisitions for dry goods in a timely manner.
22. Motivate the team and maintain high staff morale, fostering team spirit within the restaurant and across departments.
