Associate Director – Civil and Environmental Engineering
Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland's largest indigenous consultancies, specialising in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, Energy and Renewables.
FT is actively recruiting an experienced Associate Director – Environmental Engineering to join our Circular Economy and Environmental team at one of our locations in Cork, Dublin or Carlow. This opportunity is suited for professionals with at least 15 years of industry experience.
The selected candidate will become part of our established company, with opportunities to expand their professional capabilities and expertise. The role involves diverse projects including circular economy infrastructure such as biological treatment facilities, waste transfer stations, recycling facilities, energy from waste, landfill remediation, engineering landfills, landfill capping, and public realm enhancements. FT offers a defined pathway to Director-level positions.
FT's Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
- Overseeing civil and environmental design teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, maintaining quality standards.
- Developing new business opportunities and client relationships.
- Mentoring team members to foster professional growth.
- Creating technical reports and tender documentation.
- Collaborating with Project Owners for planning and managing workflows.
- Ensuring quality assurance and safety compliance.
- Coordinating among team members for deliverables.
- Maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication.
Skills / Qualifications
Ideal candidate profile:
- Level 8 or 9 qualification in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- At least 15 years of design and project leadership experience.
- Proven multi-disciplinary design management skills.
- Stakeholder management experience.
- Track record of business growth.
- Budget management skills.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Collaborative and adaptable approach.
- Problem-solving mindset and self-motivation.
- Willingness to participate in site visits and meetings.
- Valid full driving license.
- Experience with Oral Hearings is desirable.
