This role is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, pro-active individual who is dedicated to managing a warehouse team to continue to achieve & deliver a high standard of professional service. The primary function is to manage day to day warehouse activities across site, to provide up to date information and communicate to the highest level internally and externally whilst ensuring that all service levels are met and where possible, exceeded. Manage and drive productivity and scanning accuracy in order to maximize all resources whilst ensuring adherence to customer levels and targets. Leading by example, actively promotes and fosters a culture where health & safety / hygiene and customer service are of the highest priority.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Managing the team and maintaining high warehouse operational standards.
Contributing warehouse information to operational plans and reviews; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
Ensures all operational functions and process are completed in accordance with company policy and statutory legislation e.g. Health & Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
Maintenance of training records and holidays, managing the development of employees in order to ensure adequate cover of during period of holidays / absence and in response to fluctuations of peak volumes.
Co-ordinating vehicle loading/unloading with the warehouse team each shift
Manage scanning accuracy of warehouse team and ensure it is maintained at high levels consistently.
The ideal candidate will have:
* 3 years + Supervisory experience (preferably in a large FMCG environment).
* Excellent IT skills.
* A valid certificate to operate a Forklift Truck (Reach) is essential.
* A valid certificate to operate a Narrow Aisle Master (Bendi Truck) is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Excellent leadership and people skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and Analysing skills.
* Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
* Flexibility w/ overtime at weekends, if required (high demand seasonal work patterns).
* Degree/Qualification required relevant to this area (desirable).
* Proactive and self-motivated, who learns quickly and can work under minimum supervision.
* Excellent team player and communication skills essential and enjoys colleague interaction.
* "Hands on" role and must be able to prioritise tasks and must be flexible.
