The Role
Reporting to the Group CEO and based in Dublin, this is a dynamic and exciting role, which requires a strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in leading large finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting – preparation and consolidation of monthly management reporting packs, accounts and management information systems.
Financial Reporting - leading finance responsibility for annual report production, and all filings; preparation of consolidated Group financial statements, and consolidation of Group budgets, forecasts and cash-flow statements.
Ensure the finance teams prepare and maintain Balance Sheet Reconciliation as well as robust internal controls.
Monitoring and controlling cash flow performance across the group, in particular working capital management.
Leadership - leading, motivating and coaching the Finance Department team including 4 Financial Controllers.
Ensuring compliance with tax and corporate responsibilities.
Undertake strategic analysis and feasibility studies of business opportunities as they arise.

Proven Group Financial Controller Experience and track record and ability to lead and control finance teams of +20 people.

The Role In Detail
Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director will play a critical role in maximising profitability, optimising cash flow, and driving the group’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities Are
Being a member of the Leadership Team at Joe Duffy and contributing to all elements of strategy within the business.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in Joe Duffy Group and in particular the Joe Duffy Group finance function.
Ensuring all - tax, accounting, legal and compliance requirements are met.
Managing the Finance Team, ensuring clear targets and objectives are defined and met on a regular basis.
Allocating and managing resources according to changing business needs. Leading the process for budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
Working with the CEO to develop and implement effective processes and procedures to drive efficiencies across operations.
Developing sustainable relationships with colleagues & suppliers to ensure compliance.
Collaborating with Joe Duffy’s Commercial Team to ensure margin objectives are delivered in all areas of the business.
Developing cost control measures, cost estimates, and forecasts to support business budgets and plans.
Manage the cash-flow of the business and ensure the company is fully funded to execute its growth plans.
Driving a strong culture across the business, creating a highly engaged and motivated team, who understand their objectives and their role in achieving them.
Fostering & encouraging an understanding of risk and a culture of compliance in the business. Liaising with HR to develop colleague training initiatives.
Challenging, reviewing, evaluating and updating existing internal controls & procedures.
Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are being followed and improve processes and policies where needed.
Maintaining a professional image for the company in all dealings with both internal and external stakeholders. Building and maintaining strong relationships across the business.
Essential criteria
A Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE in industry within an operational leadership role. 5-8+ years in a similar leadership position.
Significant experience in managing a high-performing team.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to set a strategic vision.
The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions. Track record of adding value, particularly driving improvements in operating margin and return on capital employed.
Experience in implementing finance technology to drive efficiency and support the business in effective decision-making.
Experience in effective working capital management, ideally in a retail or fast-moving consumer environment.
