Design Manager**Location:** County Mayo, Ireland**Industry:** Manufacturing (Construction Manufacturing Advantageous)**Job Type:** Full-Time**Reports To:** Operations Director / Managing DirectorJob PurposeWe are seeking an experienced and innovative Design Manager to lead our design and product development team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or industrial design, with experience in construction manufacturing considered a significant advantage. This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and innovative products that meet customer and market demands.Key Responsibilities– Lead and manage the design team to deliver projects on time and within budget.– Oversee the development of new products from concept through to production.– Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.– Collaborate with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with customer requirements.– Implement and maintain design processes and documentation standards.– Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design practices.– Manage external design resources and liaise with clients and suppliers as needed.– Support the preparation of technical documentation, drawings, and specifications.Requirements– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a design management role within a manufacturing environment.– Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).– Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.– Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.– Experience in construction manufacturing is a distinct advantage.– Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.Benefits– Competitive salary based on experience.– Opportunities for professional development and career progression.– Supportive and innovative work environment.– Company pension scheme and other benefits.
