Business Analyst – Card Payments

We're recruiting on behalf of a global payments and financial technology organisation for an experienced Business Analyst with strong card payments expertise to join a critical delivery team in Dublin.
This role is centred on card-based transaction processing, supporting complex initiatives across authorisation, clearing, pricing, and scheme-driven change.
The role
You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to uncover, analyse, and document business requirements, enabling the delivery of robust, scalable card payment solutions.
Key responsibilities
* Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for card payments and transaction processing
* Produce detailed data mappings across source and target systems
* Define user stories and acceptance criteria within an Agile / SAFe environment
* Assess client requirements against existing platform functionality
* Translate complex payment workflows into clear, actionable requirements
* Evaluate post-production impacts and stakeholder outcomes
What we're looking for
* 5–6 years' experience as a Business Analyst in complex delivery environments
* Hands-on card payments experience (authorisation, clearing and/or settlement)
* Strong understanding of transaction processing, transaction pricing, and scheme fees
* Agile experience (SAFe preferred) with strong JIRA usage
* Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities
* Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
* SQL scripting experience
* Background in financial services or payments technology
* Experience modelling transaction workflows and supporting software delivery
