We are seeking a skilled and passionate Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry section. You will be responsible for the creation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods, as well as maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and hygiene in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pastry kitchen
* Ensure consistency in flavor, presentation, and quality
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen, ensuring HACCP standards are met
* Lead, train, and motivate the team to maintain quality and consistency
* Coordinate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service
* Assist in menu planning and development, making recommendations for new menu items
* Maintain and care for pastry equipment in your section, ensuring it is cleaned regularly, well-maintained, and used efficiently to avoid unnecessary costs.
Requirements:
* Experience as a head of pastry chef or a similar role
* In-depth knowledge of pastry and baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
* True passion for food, customer service and an ability to work as part of a large team
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality presentation
* A flexible schedule, including availability for weekends and evenings as needed
