Summary of Post
We are seeking a reliable and organized research assistant to support the delivery of a fully funded research project in the field of cystic fibrosis (CF) and microRNA‑based therapeutics. The successful candidate will handle general aspects of laboratory duties, with a particular focus on cell culture. The appointee will have the opportunity to significantly enhance their technical and broader research skills under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, in association with the Research Fellow working on the same project.
Specific Duties of the Post
* Assist in conducting research activities, including planning, organizing, conducting, and communicating within the overall scope of the research project.
* Maintain and differentiate several human cell lines and advanced in vitro models.
* Carry out any administrative work associated with the programme of research, with emphasis on supervising undergraduate students, stock checking, ordering, and inventorying.
* Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research as directed by and with the support of the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications (Essential)
* BSc/MSc in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related discipline).
Knowledge & Experience (Essential)
* Previous technical experience in human cell culture is essential.
* Technical knowledge of induced pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation is desirable.
* An appropriate record of scientific contributions to the field, such as publications or conference contributions.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills and strong collaboration.
