Finance Business Partner – Renewable Energy
Location: Dublin (4 Days On‑Site)
Amicus is currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner on behalf of a high‑growth client within the renewable energy sector. This is a pivotal opportunity to join a scaling organisation at the forefront of Ireland’s green energy transition.
The Business & Purpose of the Role
Our client is a leading force in Ireland’s transition to a sustainable future, specialising in the development and operation of large‑scale renewable energy assets. As their project pipeline expands across wind, solar, and battery storage, they are seeking a commercially‑minded Finance Business Partner to bridge the gap between finance and operations. This role is not about just "reporting the numbers"; it is about influencing them. You will act as a critical advisor to project managers and senior leadership, providing the financial clarity needed to navigate a fast‑paced, capital‑intensive industry and ensuring growth remains both ambitious and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Decision Support: Partner with project development and engineering teams to provide financial modelling and analysis for new energy site acquisitions and capital expenditure.
Performance Insight: Deliver monthly management reporting with a focus on "the why." Analyse variances, track project milestones, and provide actionable commentary to non‑finance stakeholders.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly re‑forecasting, ensuring alignment with the long‑term strategic goals of the renewable portfolio.
Commercial Challenge: Act as a "critical friend" to the business, identifying cost‑saving opportunities and challenging operational assumptions to improve project yields.
Process Innovation: Drive the improvement of financial tools and ERP systems to streamline data flow between field operations and the head office.
Risk Management: Monitor project cash flows and financial risks, ensuring robust controls are in place for multi‑million euro infrastructure investments.
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 1–3 years of Post‑Qualified Experience (PQE), ideally gained in a project‑led or high‑growth environment. You aren't someone who wants to stay hidden behind a spreadsheet; you are a natural communicator who can translate complex financial data into a narrative that resonates with engineers and developers.
Requirements include:
A proactive, "self‑starter" mindset with the ability to navigate the ambiguity of a scaling business.
Strong proficiency in advanced Excel and financial modelling.
Experience in the energy, construction, or infrastructure sectors is a distinct advantage but not a prerequisite for a fast learner.
A resident of (or willing to commute to) Dublin, comfortable with a collaborative 4‑day on‑site office culture.
