Job Description
Serving as a Direct Entry Marine Engineering Officer, you will be responsible for leading the engineering department on board and forming part of the ship's senior management team.
* You will oversee technical operations, maintain key ship systems including propulsion, power generation, fuel, water, ventilation, air conditioning, and hotel services.
* Additionally, you will be responsible for training and readiness for fire and hull breach scenarios, and the maintenance of related systems and equipment.
* Ashore, you will take up a project management or technical research role within the Naval Dockyard, Naval College (NMCI), or Naval Base.
* Your opportunities for professional development include internally funded training and CPD, with qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, and Chartered Engineer status available to pursue.
Requirements:
* Citizenship: You must be an Irish citizen or have the right to work in Ireland.
* Character & Fitness: You must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards.
* Age: You must be under 50 years old.
* Qualifications: A Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineering Officer) Class 1 or Class 2 from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport is required.
