We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM 2) to support the senior nursing leadership team in the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care within a nursing home environment.

The Role As CNM 2, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing to support the day-to-day management of the nursing home.
You will provide clinical leadership, supervise staff, and ensure residents receive safe, respectful, and high-quality care.
In the absence of senior management, you will assume responsibility for the service in line with legislation and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities Support the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing in the management and operation of the nursing home Assume responsibility for the service in the absence of senior nursing management Ensure compliance with the Health Act 2007, HIQA regulations, and National Quality Standards Maintain high standards of resident care through effective leadership and clinical supervision Lead and participate in audits, action plans, and quality improvement initiatives Attend governance, quality, and safety meetings as required Support staff induction, training, and ongoing development Assist with workforce planning, staff allocation, and performance management Participate in recruitment, probation reviews, and performance management processes Ensure assessments, care plans, and medication records are accurate, current, and person-centred Support infection prevention and control measures, including outbreak management Promote safeguarding practices and ensure concerns are reported appropriately Foster respectful, professional, and person-centred relationships with residents and families Be flexible and available for day, night, and weekend shifts as required Education & Qualifications Third-level degree in Nursing Registered with NMBI (active PIN required) Up-to-date training in infection control, medication management, manual handling, CPR, dementia care, and safeguarding (training available) Post-registration qualification in healthcare management is desirable Post-registration qualification in gerontology or dementia care is desirable Willingness to undertake a Level 6 Leadership & Management programme Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years post-registration nursing experience Proven clinical competence and a passion for high-quality elder care Experience supporting, supervising, and mentoring nursing and care staff Strong communication skills with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic healthcare environment What Were Looking For A proactive and supportive clinical leader Strong organisational and decision-making skills Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement Ability to lead by example and uphold professional standards Interest in leadership development and career progression Health, Safety & Quality Promote a positive health, safety, and quality culture Ensure accurate documentation, incident reporting, and engagement in quality initiatives Maintain high standards of hygiene, professionalism, and use of PPE Sustainability & Social Responsibility Support environmentally responsible practices within the nursing home Encourage initiatives that reduce environmental impact and promote sustainability #MEDAHP
