Abbott Vascular is a leading vascular care business focused on advancing treatments for vascular diseases through innovative medical devices and pharmaceuticals, supported by R&D and training programs. Our products treat vessel diseases related to the heart, carotid arteries, and peripheral blood vessels, which can lead to serious conditions such as heart attack and stroke.
Purpose of the Job
This role provides technical assistance to engineering to support manufacturing efforts by implementing corrective and preventative actions. It involves assisting engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing processes.
Major Responsibilities
* Support manufacturing by training operators on processes and engineering changes, and performing operator certification through on-the-job training and testing.
* Develop knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
* Assist in researching and validating process/equipment changes to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
* Learn traceability, inspection requirements, statistical process control, and how to develop manufacturing instructions, training sheets, and certifications. May also involve training operators and certifying their skills.
* Assist in collecting, compiling, measuring, organizing, and recording data, and in writing procedures, possibly maintaining lab notebooks.
Education & Competencies
* NFQ Level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
* Basic knowledge of technical concepts, product/system fundamentals, and familiarity with numerical/statistical data and computer software for routine problem-solving.
* Ability to perform routine technical tasks based on detailed instructions, including setup, testing, repair, inspection, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
* Ability to meet daily work schedules with guidance on prioritization.
* Problem-solving skills for issues of limited scope, maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
* Close supervision with detailed instructions on assignments.
