MongoDB’s mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build anywhere—on the edge, on premises, or across cloud providers.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust, scalable, and secure web applications, leveraging your deep expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies. You will help lead the architecture and implementation of new features, optimize performance, and ensure code quality through thorough testing and best practices in software development. Your role involves actively and consistently engaging in hands-on coding to drive projects to completion. You will mentor other software engineers, foster a collaborative team environment, and contribute to the overall technical direction of the projects. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver high-quality software on time, lead major initiatives, and continuously improve the development processes and technical standards within the team.

* Strong understanding of RESTful API development using NodeJS and related technologies and libraries
* In-depth understanding of software development concepts such as scalability, observability, software design patterns, performance optimization, and web application security principles and practices
* Demonstrated ability to actively engage in coding and software development tasks, leading by example and staying current with the latest development practices

* Proficiency in unit testing, and good working knowledge of integration testing, and end-to-end testing using frameworks like Jest, Mocha, Playwright, or similar
* Working knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
* Proven track record of leading and mentoring other team members, leading technical discussions for resolving conflicts, and obtaining alignment on technical decisions
