Tenant Relations Officer – Occupop (Client/Employer).
Location: Blackpool, Cork. Salary: €45,995 – €59,471. Full‑time, Permanent.
Job Purpose: Effectively carry out the role of Tenant Relations Officer to deliver quality tenant‑focused services and contribute to the overall success of the Tenant Relations Team.
Responsibilities
Estate Management
Ensure all estates are safe and enjoyable places for tenants.
Conduct regular estate engagement and address issues through a tenant‑focused and trauma‑informed approach.
Carry out estate inspections, monitor neighbourhood service contracts and engage with contractors to raise standards.
Engage with local tenants and community groups to encourage active involvement and feedback.
Address complaints of nuisance or anti‑social behaviour, collaborating with external stakeholders and support services to sustain tenancies.
Allocations
Manage the letting of new homes and re‑letting of existing homes.
Coordinate with Local Authorities to request nominations and conduct viewings.
Ensure a smooth sign‑up process and keep future tenants informed.
Complete required follow‑up visits and maintain accurate records.
Stakeholder Engagement
Represent Respond at external meetings and within local communities.
Maintain positive relationships with Local Authority staff and other stakeholders.
Develop links within the broader community network.
Tenant Engagement
Engage individual tenants and group services to develop estate priorities and feedback on Respond services.
Organise opportunities and events for tenants to have their say.
Collaborate with tenants to identify and prioritise minor works and environmental improvements.
Communicate effectively about service developments and matters important to tenants.
Team Working
Adopt a “one team” approach with cross‑organisation colleagues.
Collaborate closely with Technical Service staff on repairs and property matters.
Work with Housing Services, Customer Service Centre, Rent Officers and other support staff to deliver on objectives.
General
Provide outstanding service that makes a real difference to tenants’ lives.
Ensure properties are well presented, maintained and records comply with GDPR.
Provide accurate updates and reports to keep the coordinator informed.
Report any tenant‑related concerns and implement health and safety requirements.
Document compliance with Respond’s reporting systems and quality standards.
Carry out any other relevant duties as assigned.
Person Specification
Qualifications
3rd level qualification or equivalent in housing, tenant management, property management or a related discipline.
Experience
Demonstrable experience in customer services, relationship management and dispute resolution, preferably through a trauma‑informed approach.
Hands‑on experience of social housing tenancy services, including assessments, voids, allocations, anti‑social behaviour and tenancy support.
Proven ability to engage third‑party services in tenancy sustainment.
Proficiency with IT‑based management systems and Microsoft Office packages.
