So, even if you feel that you’re close but not an exact match, we encourage you to apply.How You'll Make An ImpactPrimary focus of role to provide guidance and assistance to Account teams and clients by using financial decision making tools, conducting client facing meetings when appropriate, and to speak effectively on behalf of the underwriting team regarding core services.ResponsibilitiesAnalyzing data from carriers on complex clients and providing recommendations to account management teams or to clients in order to effectively negotiate rates and funding levelsEvaluating and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual reports that measure client financial statusTracking expenses by product line, renewal projections, funding levels and rates, etc. to the Account management teams and to clients when necessaryEvaluating, assigning, monitoring and peer reviewing reports generated by underwriting team subordinatesOperates as a consultant to internal staff as well as clients, assisting clients with a range of complex issues and needsProvides underwriting analysis services to internal staff and to clients according to their needs and strategic interests, assisting in retaining clientsAssists in the sales process through production of financial projections on large accounts and related underwriting analysisOversees coordination of and helps conduct underwriting team training programs for staff/clientsServes as a resource to branch office staff to contribute toward measurable ROI of services and retention of clientsActively mentor junior team members and identify opportunities to collaborate with divisional teams on creation, enhancement and development of tools, templates and reportsAbout YouRequired: Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience with Broker or Carrier side with focus on Health and BenefitsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft OfficeHigh degree of understanding of employee benefits funding mechanismsMust be familiar with carrier reporting systemsPreferred: Microsoft Excel expertiseEffective negotiation skillsAn executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communicationsAbility to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organizationDeep knowledge of national and applicable regional carriers - incl. discounts, embedded programming, and emerging solutionsMembership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) and Society of Actuaries (SOA) with a designation of Fellow or AssociateBehaviorsDetail orientedStrong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skillsMust remain aware of new techniques and office procedures and be able to implement new or changing procedures with adequate instruction but minimal supervisionMust maintain favorable relationships with clients, vendors and other office staffCompensation And BenefitsWe offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position.
